Many of these pictures were taken by my grandfather, Edgar J Schexnayder Sr. while serving in the 305th BG, 8th U.S.A.F. as a Navigator on a  B-17.

He received the Purple Heart for flack wounds. If you look CLOSELY at the photo below titled the "Liberty Run" and her crew, you can see a patch panel just below the navigator's window. His name is also painted on the plane below the windows ("Eddie").
